Lifestyle Bloggers Invade LA + Giveaway

Your first question may be what is a lifestyle blogger? Well, where as a beauty or fashion blogger will typically cover only the topics in their niche, a lifestyle blogger will usually cover a range of topics that pertain to their personal lifestyle. For instance, I started out only writing about natural hair and now that I have transitioned into lifestyle I cover a variety of topics from my point of view.

The 5th Annual Lifestyle Blogger National Conferene was held at the historical Maker City LA February 19-21st, 2015. The whole weekend was centered about learning, networking, and connecting with fellow lifestyle bloggers.

The agenda started Thursday evening with a VIP party held at the Citadel Premium Outlets with entertainment provided by comedian Rick Najaria. Saturday's highlights included tasting a wonderful red velvet cake presented by keynote speaker, Elfie Weiss of Hotcakes Bakes (I'm not even a red velvet fan and I thought the cake was delicious!) and the blogger junket, which gave bloggers an opportunity to speak one-on-one with brands to discuss potential opportunities. Participating brands were Blaze PR, Citadel Outlets, Ford, Just Curves, Lincoln, Nerium AD, and Social Moms. The day concluded with a happy hour sponsored by Selvarey Rum.

Saturday's agenda included the exciting topic "Build a Career from/with your Blog" in which we heard from panelist Alaia Williams of One Organized Business, Carolyn West of Social Elements Media, and Christa O'Leary of Home & Harmony Lifestyle Interior Design. I appreciated that the panelists were from a variety of backgrounds and that they were able to use their blogs to leverage their entrepreneurial careers.

The afternoon session consisted of blog niche breakout sessions covering video, photography, and food along with a closing keynote address by Cisco Pineda, founder of Cisco Brothers, and of course a closing happy hour.

I was happy to attend another successful Lifestyle Bloggers Conference and I look forward to next year!
