I feel like I've been all over the place with my blog posts as I work to find my blogging voice. While I want to explore topics outside of natural hair I do not want to forget where I started. With that said, in the new year my goal is to publish at least two blog posts a week, and one of the two will be dedicated to all things natural hair. Let's get started!
If you search "wash n' go natural hair" on YouTube you will be presented with over 100,00 search results. The thought of being able to wake up, put product in your hair, and walk out the door is many a natural's dream. Women want to look good but we also want it to be as effortless as possible.
In the search for the perfect wash n' go I was happy to come across the Anthony Dickey Method. Anthony Dickey is a well-known hair stylist in New York and the creator of the Hair Rules product line, one of the first hair care lines to cater to textured hair. Anthony's wash n' go method focuses on cleansing, conditioning, and styling natural hair by keeping the hair as moisturized as possible in order to achieve an ideal wash n' go. I mean what natural has not thought I wish my hair looked as good dry as it does wet?!
In the video below Anthony Dickey demonstrates his method of achieving moisturized curls by applying leave-in and styling products on sopping wet hair. This way you're locking in your curls leaving your hair moisturized with incredible shine and elongation. You will still have shrinkage, of course but just less.
I personally prefer the Anthony Dickey wash n' go method because a) I use less product because since I'm applying it to sopping wet hair it applies easier b) with all the moisture locked in I'm left with awesome shine c) the shine helps my curls pop!
