I could not say no to a sale!

It's obvious this blog is not going to write itself so I'm trying to get back into writing regularly. I have a ton of ideas but the sitting down long enough without getting distracted to write my ideas down is where I'm running into trouble... But today is a new day so back to our regularly scheduled program of blogging.

As a new natural I officially entered the product junkie stage. At the product junkie stage you feel compelled to purchase almost every product that you have heard of or read about. The minute your favorite vlogger or blogger says the product worked wonders on their hair you run out and buy it. Due to my consumerism, I accumulated a plethora of products, more than I knew what to do with as I only have one head of hair so I decided to go on a self-imposed no-buy from Jan 1st to March 31, 2013. I was naive in thinking this would be easy.

January and February were cake walks but by the time I got into March I was itching to make a purchase, any  purchase, I didn't care what hair product it was but I held out until... Until the natural hair product pushers over at Curlmart decided to have a 20% off sale with $5 shipping! Because the sale was ending before April, I had no choice but to make a purchase, I'm sure you would have done the same thing. Actually, the products will not arrive until April so technically I did not break my no-buy. *wink wink*

Once this no-buy is officially over I will have a new plan of attack for the next hair products I'll be purchasing. Look for details in a future blog post.

Have you survived a hair product no-buy? How long did you last?

I was told there was no difference between white (Shea Butter Nilotica) and yellow (Shea Butter Western) Shea butter but then I found YouTuber DuchessGabrielle. In her video she explains the differences so you can make a more informed choice. Learn more below:

Do you prefer white or yellow shea butter?

One of the most inspirational YouTube hair growth videos I have seen is by RenieceHairTV and after more than a year I'm happy to say she is back with another video! This time she features the hair growth journeys of several of her clients and at the end she shows common Black hair types both wet and flat-ironed.

I see my 3C hair. Do you see yours?
